Incredible Torque and Transformable Seating Combine to Make the Ultimate UV

With a high-torque diesel engine, amazing durability, and ability to easily transform from a two-person gear hauler to a four-person transport, the 2012 Kawasaki Mule™ 4010 Trans4x4® Diesel is easily the most versatile utility vehicle in its class.

The Mule 4010 Trans4x4 Diesel is the ultimate tool in your productivity arsenal. Key to this productivity is the Trans4x4’s convertible design, going from a two-person long-bed cargo hauler into a four-person transport in just a few simple steps. Plus there’s the peace of mind that comes from having a diesel engine, a design renowned for its long-haul durability and reliability. This powerful and torquey three-cylinder engine teams up with selectable four-wheel drive, electric power steering (EPS) system, a fully automatic transmission and locking rear differential to make the Trans4x4 Diesel an outstanding choice for practically any utility vehicle role. Producing 38.3 lb.-ft. of torque @ 2,800 rpm, this 953cc engine has enough low-end pulling power to tackle the heaviest workloads.

This diesel engine is matched to the Kawasaki Automatic Power-Drive System (KAPS), a continuously variable transmission (CVT) that features high and low range ratios, plus reverse. The KAPS system offers the ability to keep engine rpm in the most efficient range across a broad spectrum of vehicle speed, load, and terrain, and facilitates ample pulling power and quick acceleration.

Large torque converters maximize the CVT’s belt engagement area for optimal heat dissipation, strength and durability. Wear is minimized through the use of a thick, strong drive belt and sheaves with high silicon-type material. Tuned specifically to accommodate higher payloads, the KAPS’ durability is further aided by cooling the torque converter with filtered air from a special air cleaner featuring an easily replaceable element and an efficient fan that moves a large volume of cooling air through the CVT. A high-flow cover also helps lower CVT temperatures while providing superb splash protection and resistance to water intrusion.

This reliable system transmits power to a dual-mode locking rear differential through a dependable, low-maintenance shaft drive. The Trans4x4 Diesel also sports a limited slip front differential and two-speed transfer case for the four-wheel drive system, allowing the operator to engage four-wheel drive for extra traction and pulling power in difficult conditions. A cyclone-type Donaldson® air filter system with a replaceable paper element supplies the engine with clean air. This efficient design needs less frequent cleaning, even with repeated use in extremely dusty off-road conditions. To help the filter stay clean and last longer – especially in the rugged conditions for which this Kawasaki was built – Kawasaki engineers the system so that engine and converter cooling air are both drawn from the top of the cab frame, where there’s less dust.

The wheelbase of the Mule 4010 Trans4x4 Diesel may be 85.2 inches, but it still offers a tight turning radius and excellent rough terrain capabilities. Electric power steering (EPS) helps make the low-effort rack-and-pinion steering system easy to turn. The EPS reduces steering effort by up to 30 percent, and is a significant boost at low speeds in four-wheel drive. It uses input from vehicle speed and torque sensors to determine how much assistance is provided by the system’s electric motor and also harnesses the electric motor’s inertia to dampen much of the bump steer and kickback associated with front wheel impacts. The system works immediately after the engine is started, but doesn’t create a power drain on the engine.

With the forward/reverse, high/low-range gear lever and the four-wheel drive selector all within easy reach on the dash, drivers can focus more attention on negotiating rough or fragile terrain. The operator-friendly Mule 4010 Trans4x4 Diesel dashboard also features a digital hour meter, horn, speedometer, a 12-volt, 10-amp DC outlet and a push-button switch for the headlights. A parking brake and coolant temperature warning light in plain view, dual sealed glove boxes plus retractable rear seat belts and a padded rear-passenger grab handle round out the cab features.

Maintenance chores are simplified with an air restrictor gauge in the cab to indicate when the air filter needs to be cleaned or replaced, and the fuse box and oil dipstick are conveniently located underneath the seat for quick access.

With its modern and rugged bodywork, this four-wheel drive utility vehicle is a natural in tough work environments. Its body panels are manufactured from durable, color-molded plastic that helps hide minor scuffs and scratches. The extendable cab is surrounded by the large-diameter steel tube frame structure.

The front hood can be opened with the pull of a dash-mounted knob and allows access to a deep storage space equipped with convenient D-rings to help secure cargo. Additionally, two levers make opening and closing the tailgate a secure and easy process. The convenience factor on the Trans4x4 Diesel extends beyond easy-access latches or controls; it also boasts owner-friendly features like the winch-ready tabs located under the front grille, which greatly simplify the winch-mounting process.

A smooth-riding MacPherson strut front suspension works in conjunction with a heavy duty DeDion-type leaf spring rear suspension system to provide the Trans4x4 with a extended-bed 1,100-pound cargo capacity, or a 400-pound cargo capacity when in four-passenger mode. Large 23-inch low-pressure tires provide additional ride comfort, great traction and help minimize impact over a variety of terrain. Effective stopping power is provided by four hydraulically operated, self-adjusting, sealed drum brakes designed to resist contamination from water, mud and other debris.

In addition to its stellar payload capacity, the Mule 4010 Trans4x4 Diesel utility vehicle can tow up to 1,200 pounds with an optional draw bar. Other popular accessories include an enclosed cab, cab heater, snow plow, and soft or hard tops. These and many other Authentic Kawasaki Accessories are available through Kawasaki dealers.

The Perfect Vehicle for Every Hunting Party

Hunting and fishing are often group activities. And when you have several buddies who want in on the hunting party, you can feel confident the Mule™ 4010 Trans4x4® Realtree® APG™ HD® can successfully transport up to four adults –and their gear– deep into the back country. Built with an ingenious design that allows this utility vehicle to transform from a two-person tool and gear hauler into a four-person transport, the Mule 4010 4×4 offers the flexibility to invite more friends along for wilderness excursions.

Whether hunting or fishing, the stealthy Realtree APG HD camouflage coating on the Trans4x4 means this Mule will blend into its environment. New for 2012, Blaze Orange model badging adds additional Realtree styling. Built with the same great features as a Trans4x4, this vehicle will get you where you need to go in an off-road environment, with plenty of power to spare. Its selectable four-wheel drive, electric power steering (EPS) system and powerful, digital fuel injection (DFI®) equipped engine work in conjunction with a fully automatic transmission and locking rear differential to make the handy Mule 4010 Trans4x4 an outstanding choice for just about any utility vehicle need. Bold styling and the outdoor-motif graphic package are complemented by user-friendly controls and dashboard layout, and a tilting cargo bed allows simple unloading.

The Mule 4010 4×4’s liquid-cooled 617cc four-stroke V-twin is managed by a digital Electronic Control Unit (ECU) and features a DFI system that compensates for variations in atmospheric pressure, engine and air temperature. The result is smooth and consistent engine starting, crisp throttle response and more precise fuel metering, which helps reduce fuel consumption and reduce emissions. The ECU incorporates an automatic fast idle speed control that activates when the engine is cold, eliminating the need for a manual choke. Its electronics also regulate maximum engine speed, eliminating the need for a mechanical governor.

The powerful 617cc V-twin engine is mated to a continuously variable transmission (CVT) that features both high and low range plus reverse. Power is transmitted through a dependable, low-maintenance shaft drive system to a dual-mode rear differential that can be locked to maximize traction, or unlocked to improve handling and minimize ground disturbance when making tight turns. Mule 4010 Trans4x4 drivers can also engage four-wheel drive for extra traction in difficult conditions.

The wheelbase of the Mule 4010 Trans4x4 may be 11.6 inches longer than a standard 4010, but still offers a tight turning radius and excellent rough terrain capabilities. An electric power steering (EPS) system makes the low-effort rack-and-pinion steering even easier to turn. The EPS reduces steering effort by up to 30 percent, and is a significant boost at low speeds in four-wheel drive, using input from vehicle speed and torque sensors to determine how much assistance is required from the system’s electric motor.

With the forward/reverse, high/low-range gear lever and the four-wheel drive selector all within easy reach on the dash, drivers can focus more attention on negotiating rough or fragile terrain. The Trans4x4 dashboard features an easy-to-see coolant temperature warning light, hour meter, a horn, dual glove boxes, driver and passenger cup holders and a push-button control that activates the headlights. The cab also features retractable rear seat belts and padded rear-passenger grab handles.

With its modern and rugged bodywork, this four-wheel drive utility vehicle is a natural in tough work environments. Its body panels are manufactured from a durable, color-molded plastic that helps hide minor scuffs and scratches. The extendable cab on the Mule 4010 Trans4x4 is surrounded by the large-diameter steel tube frame structure.

The front hood can be opened with the pull of a dash-mounted knob and allows access to a deep storage space equipped with convenient D-rings to help secure cargo. Additionally, two levers make opening and closing the tailgate a secure and easy process. The convenience factor on the Trans4x4 extends beyond easy-access latches or controls; it also boasts owner-friendly features like the winch-ready tabs located under the front grille, which greatly simplify the winch-mounting process.

Maintenance chores are simplified with an air restrictor gauge in the cab to indicate when the air filter needs to be cleaned or replaced, and the fuse box and oil dipstick are conveniently located underneath the seat for quick access.

Effective stopping power is provided by four hydraulically operated, self-adjusting, sealed drum brakes designed to resist contamination from water, mud and other debris. Large 23-inch low-pressure tires provide a comfortable ride, great traction and help minimize impact over a variety of terrain.

A smooth-riding MacPherson strut front suspension works in conjunction with a heavy duty DeDion-type leaf spring rear suspension system to provide the Trans4x4 with an extended-bed 800-pound cargo capacity, or a 400-pound capacity when in four-passenger mode. In addition to its stellar payload capacity, the Mule 4010 Trans4x4 utility vehicle can tow up to 1,200 pounds with an optional draw bar.

MSRP $10699.00-$10999 – Call 1-800-556-3098 for our special discount pricing.

For people with a wide variety of needs, the Mule™ 4010 Trans4x4® utility vehicle is the answer. As a two-seater, the Mule 4010 Trans4x4 can haul a serious amount of lumber, tools, or hay around the farm or construction site. But if job requirements suddenly change, it transforms into a four passenger transport vehicle in just a few easy steps, making it one of the most versatile vehicles in its class. No extra parts to remove, no extra tools required.

Transforming the Mule into a four-seater is as easy as folding the cargo bed walls from the Trans4x4’s cab and rotating the back seat into position. Going back to two-person mode – and enlarging the cargo bed – is achieved by reversing those steps. This innovative design means that whatever the need, a Mule 4010 Trans4x4 can handle it.

Its selectable four-wheel drive, electric power steering (EPS) system and powerful, digital fuel injection (DFI®) equipped engine work in conjunction with a fully automatic transmission and locking rear differential to make the versatile Mule 4010 Trans4x4 an outstanding choice for just about any utility vehicle need. Bold, truck-like styling is complemented by smooth car-like controls, a user friendly dashboard layout and a tilting cargo bed.

The Mule 4010 4×4’s liquid-cooled 617cc four-stroke V-twin is managed by a digital Electronic Control Unit (ECU) and features a DFI system that compensates for variations in atmospheric pressure, engine and air temperature. The result is smooth and consistent engine starts, crisp throttle response and more precise fuel metering, which helps reduce fuel consumption and reduce emissions.

The wheelbase of the Mule 4010 Trans4x4 may be 11.6 inches longer than a standard 4010, but it still offers a tight turning radius and excellent rough terrain capabilities. Electric power steering (EPS) makes the low-effort rack-and-pinion steering system even easier to turn. The EPS reduces steering effort by up to 30 percent, and is a significant boost at low speeds in four-wheel drive, using input from vehicle speed and torque sensors to determine how much assistance is provided by the system’s electric motor.

With the forward/reverse, high/low-range gear lever and the four-wheel drive selector all within easy reach on the dash, drivers can focus more attention on negotiating rough or fragile terrain. The Trans4x4 dashboard features an easy-to-see coolant temperature warning light, hour meter, a horn, dual glove boxes, driver, passenger cup holders and a push-button control that activates the headlights. The cab also features retractable rear seat belts and padded rear-passenger grab handle.

Maintenance chores are simplified with an air restrictor gauge in the cab to indicate when the air filter needs to be cleaned or replaced, and the fuse box and oil dipstick are conveniently located beneath the seat for quick access.

With its stylish and rugged bodywork, this four-wheel drive utility is a natural in tough work environments. Its body panels are manufactured from a durable, color-molded plastic that helps hide minor scuffs and scratches. The extendable cab on the Mule 4010 Trans4x4 is surrounded by a large-diameter steel tube frame structure.

Effective stopping power is provided by four hydraulically operated, self-adjusting, sealed drum brakes designed to resist contamination from water, mud and other debris. Large 23-inch low-pressure tires provide a comfortable ride, great traction and help minimize impact over a variety of terrain.

A smooth-riding MacPherson strut front suspension works in conjunction with a heavy duty DeDion-type leaf spring rear suspension system to provide the Trans4x4 with an extended-bed 800-pound cargo capacity, or a 400-pound cargo capacity when in four-passenger mode. In addition to its stellar payload capacity, the Mule 4010 Trans4x4 utility vehicle can tow up to 1,200 pounds with an optional draw bar.

Other popular accessories include an enclosed cab, cab heater, snow plow, and soft or hard tops. These and many other Authentic Kawasaki Accessories are available through Kawasaki dealers.

Durable, Reliable Power Makes for One Tough Vehicle

In hardworking environments, diesel is often the fuel of choice. Which explains why a strong, reliable diesel engine powers the Kawasaki Mule™ 4010 4×4 Diesel utility vehicle. Whether your itinerary calls for transporting a huge load of tools around the construction site, or hauling a half-ton of equipment to the north forty, the 4010 4×4 Diesel’s robust nature will make quick work of nearly any task. With its torquey three-cylinder engine that offers excellent fuel economy, easy-to-use automatic transmission and electric power steering, the Mule 4010 4×4 Diesel is bound to boost your productivity. Plus, the selectable four-wheel drive and a locking rear differential help provide maximum traction in mud, gravel and hilly environs, while a tilting cargo bed makes unloading a simple affair.

Producing substantial torque at low engine rpm, the Mule 4010 4×4 Diesel’s liquid-cooled, 953cc three-cylinder diesel engine is matched to a Kawasaki Automatic Power-Drive System (KAPS), a continuously variable transmission (CVT) that features a high and low range, reverse, and helps maintain engine rpm in its most efficient range for any selected vehicle speed, load or terrain. It also yields a wide drive ratio spread for ample pulling power and quick acceleration.

Large torque converters maximize belt engagement area for optimal heat dissipation, strength and durability. Wear is reduced by the use of a strong and beefy drive belt and sheaves with high silicon-type material. Durability is further aided by cooling the torque converter with filtered air via a special air cleaner that uses an easily replaceable filter element and an efficient intake cooling fan to draw sufficient air into the CVT. A high-flow cover also helps cool the CVT while providing superb splash protection and waterproofing.

This highly reliable drive system uses a dependable, low-maintenance shaft drive to transmit power to a dual-mode rear differential that can be locked to maximize traction, or unlocked to minimize ground disturbance when making tight turns. The operator can also engage four-wheel drive for added traction and pulling power in difficult conditions.

A cyclone-type Donaldson® air filter system with a replaceable paper element supplies the engine with clean air. This efficient design needs less frequent cleaning, even with repeated use in extremely dusty off-road conditions. To help the filter stay clean and last longer, especially in the rugged conditions for which this Kawasaki was built, engine air and converter cooling air are both drawn from the top of the cab frame, where there is less dust.

The electric power steering (EPS) system offers a more controlled ride by reducing steering effort at low speeds and harnessing its electric motor’s inertia to dampen much of the bump steer and kickback associated with front wheel impacts. Offering a significant boost at low speeds and in four-wheel drive, the EPS system uses input from vehicle speed and torque sensors to determine how much assistance is needed from the system’s electric motor.

The Mule 4010 4×4 Diesel’s straightforward, user friendly controls allow drivers to focus more attention on negotiating rough or fragile terrain. The forward/reverse, high/low-range gear lever and four-wheel drive selector are all within easy reach on the dash. The coolant temperature warning light is easy to see, and a push-button control activates the headlights. Other standard features include an hour meter, a horn on the dash, a gauge on the fuel tank and an intake restriction gauge to indicate when the air filter needs to be cleaned or replaced.

The Mule 4010 4×4 Diesel features a roomy cab surrounded by a large-diameter steel tube frame structure. With its modern rugged bodywork, this four-wheel drive utility vehicle is completely at home in tough work environments. Its durable, color-molded plastic body panels are manufactured help hide minor scuffs and scratches. The front hood can be opened with the pull of a dash-mounted knob and allows access to a deep storage space equipped with convenient D-rings to help secure cargo. Additionally, two levers make opening and closing the tailgate a secure and easy process. The Mule 4010 4×4 Diesel’s list of owner-friendly features also includes winch-ready tabs located under the front grille, which greatly simplifies the winch-mounting process.

The Mule 4010 4×4 Diesel chassis includes a ladder-type frame riding on a DeDion-type rear leaf-spring suspension. It is designed to carry heavy loads yet provide a smooth ride when the cargo bed is empty. MacPherson struts handle front suspension duties and provide a good balance of comfort and load capacity. Effective stopping power is provided by four hydraulically operated, self-adjusting, sealed drum brakes designed to resist contamination from water, mud and other debris. Large 23-inch low-pressure tires provide a comfortable ride, great traction and help minimize impact over a variety of terrain.

MSRP $9699.00 – Call 1-800-556-3098 for our special discount pricing.

Selectable 4WD and a Powerful V-twin Help Get Things Done

When the job calls for serious traction, the Mule™ 4010 4×4 answers with its sure-footed 4-wheel drive system. The Mule 4010 4×4 is loaded with great features to help you get to the job site and get things done. Besides its convenient selectable four-wheel drive system, the Mule 4010 4×4 also boasts a full-sized chassis, reliable digital fuel injection, electric power steering (EPS) system, fully automatic transmission, locking rear differential and a tilting cargo bed. With all of its great attributes, you’ll wonder how you got things done before you had one.

The Mule 4010 4×4’s liquid-cooled 617cc V-twin engine is managed by a digital Electronic Control Unit (ECU) and is fed by a fuel injection system that compensates for variations in atmospheric pressure, engine and air temperature. This combination results in consistent starts and ultra-precise fuel metering, both of which help reduce fuel consumption and limit emissions. An automatic fast idle speed control activates when the engine is cold, eliminating the need for a manual choke. The ECU also regulates top engine speed, which means the Mule doesn’t need a mechanical governor.

This powerful V-twin engine is mated to a continuously variable transmission (CVT) that features both high and low range, plus a reverse gear. Power is transmitted through a dependable, low-maintenance shaft drive system to a dual-mode rear differential that can be locked to maximize traction, or unlocked to improve handling and minimize ground disturbance when negotiating tight turns. Mule 4010 drivers can also engage four-wheel drive for extra traction in tricky conditions.

The Mule 4010 4×4’s rack-and-pinion steering is assisted by an electric power steering (EPS) system that can reduce turning effort by up to 30 percent while offering a significant boost at low speeds in four-wheel drive. The EPS system automatically determines how much assistance is needed using input from vehicle speed and torque sensors. The forward/reverse, high/low-range and the four-wheel drive selectors are all within easy reach on the dash so drivers can focus more attention on negotiating rough or tricky terrain. The coolant temperature warning light is easy to see, and a push-button control activates the headlights. Other standard features include an hour meter, horn and air restrictor gauge to indicate when the air filter needs to be cleaned or replaced. The fuse box and oil dipstick are located beneath the seat for quick access.

A roomy cab is surrounded by the Mule 4010 4×4’s large-diameter steel tube frame structure. With its rugged and modern bodywork, this four-wheel drive utility is a natural in the tough pickup truck work environment. Its body panels are manufactured from a durable, color-molded plastic that helps hide minor scuffs and scratches. The front hood can be opened with the pull of a dash-mounted knob and allows access to a deep storage space equipped with convenient D-rings to help secure cargo. Additionally, two levers make opening and closing the tailgate a secure and easy process.

The convenience factor on the Mule 4010 4×4 extends beyond easy-access latches or controls; the machine also features owner-friendly touches like the winch-ready tabs located under the front grille, which greatly simplify the winch-mounting process.

The Mule 4010 4×4 chassis includes a ladder-type frame riding on a DeDion-type rear leaf-spring suspension designed to carry heavy loads yet provide a smooth ride when the cargo bed is empty. MacPherson struts handle front suspension duty and provide an optimum balance of comfort and load capacity. Effective stopping power is provided by four hydraulically operated, self-adjusting, sealed drum brakes designed to resist contamination from water, mud and other debris. Large 23-inch low-pressure tires provide a comfortable ride, superb traction and help minimize impact over a variety of terrain.

The Mule 4010 4×4 can carry 800 pounds in its steel cargo bed and is capable of towing up to 1,200 pounds with an optional draw bar. Other popular accessories include an enclosed cab, cab heater, snow plow and soft or hard tops. These and many other Authentic Kawasaki Accessories are available through Kawasaki dealers.

Capability and Value in a Full-Size Utility Machine

Sometimes the job is just too big and too nasty for anything but a full-sized utility vehicle. And when that’s the case, the Kawasaki Mule™ 4000 is ready to go. As the foundation of Kawasaki’s full-sized utility line, the Mule 4000 offers all the hardware and technology you need to tackle really big jobs, including a full-sized chassis, powerful four-stroke V-twin engine with digital fuel injection and serious towing capacity, a fully automatic transmission, locking rear differential and a tilting cargo bed. Think of the Mule 4000 as the stronger big brother to an already capable Mule 600 series machine.

Power is key in this class of machine, and the Mule 4000’s got plenty. Its powerful and torquey liquid-cooled 617cc four-stroke V-twin is managed by a digital Electronic Control Unit (ECU) and features a fuel injection system that compensates for variations in atmospheric pressure, engine and air temperature. The result is smooth and consistent power, easy starting, crisp throttle response and precise fuel metering, which helps reduce fuel consumption and lower emissions. The ECU incorporates an automatic fast idle speed control that activates when the engine is cold, eliminating the need for a manual choke. Its electronics also regulate maximum engine speed, so there’s no need for a mechanical governor.

To make the going easy, the Mule 4000 features a continuously variable transmission (CVT) that provides quick acceleration and efficient pulling power. A dependable and low-maintenance shaft drive system transfers power to a dual-mode differential that can be locked to maximize rear wheel traction, or unlocked to improve handling and minimize ground disturbance when negotiating tight turns.

Like its accurate, light-steering rack-and-pinion system, the Mule 4000’s easy-to-operate controls are highly user friendly and positioned to maximize comfort and convenience. The gear selector is located on the dash within easy reach and the headlights are activated by a simple push-button switch. Instrumentation includes an easy-to-see coolant temperature warning light, an hour meter and horn. The convenient air restriction gauge indicates when the Mule 4000’s air filter needs cleaning or replacement. Located beneath the seat, the fuse box and oil dipstick are easily accessed, making maintenance chores a cinch.

The Mule 4000’s roomy and comfortable cab is surrounded by the large-diameter steel tube frame structure. With its modern and rugged bodywork, the Mule 4000 is a natural in a tough pickup truck work environment. Its body panels are manufactured from durable, color-molded plastic that helps hide minor scuffs and scratches. The front hood can be opened with the pull of a dash-mounted knob and allows access to a deep storage space equipped with convenient D-rings to help secure cargo. Additionally, two levers make opening and closing the tailgate a secure and easy process.

The convenience factor on the Mule 4000 extends beyond easy-access latches or controls; it can also boast of owner-friendly features such as the winch-ready tabs located under the front grille, which greatly simplify the winch mounting process.

The Mule 4000 chassis is based around a ladder-type frame riding on a DeDion type rear leaf-spring suspension designed to carry heavy loads yet provide a smooth ride when the cargo bed is empty. MacPherson struts handle front suspension duties and provide a good balance of comfort and load capacity. Sealed, self-adjusting hydraulic drum brakes at all four wheels offer progressive stopping power, and large 23-inch tires at all four corners provide maximum traction for a variety of surfaces as well as a comfortable ride.

The Mule 4000 utility vehicle can carry 800 pounds in its steel cargo bed and tow up to 1,200 pounds when equipped with the optional draw bar. Other popular accessories include an enclosed cab, cab heater, snow plow, and soft or hard tops. These and many other Authentic Kawasaki Accessories are available through Kawasaki dealers.

A Great Hunting Companion Cloaked in Stealthy Camouflage

Take the already durable, practical Mule™ 610 4×4 XC, wrap it in Realtree® APG™ HD® camouflage, and you have the ultimate go-anywhere, do-anything vehicle for hunters and other outdoor enthusiasts.

The Mule 610 4×4 XC Realtree APG HD includes all of the hauling capacity and functionality that make the Mule 610 4×4 a standout utility vehicle. And with an innovative woodland pattern that allows the Mule to melt into the environment, it becomes the perfect hunting vehicle.

The primary visual giveaway to the XC’s off-road goodness is its aggressive, 26-inch Maxxis Bighorn radial tires mounted on 12-inch rims. But there’s also a load of features designed to complement the XC’s more aggressive nature and infuse it with a large helping of what can only be described as cool factor.

The standard Mule 610 4×4 can go just about anywhere, but the new 4×4 XC takes that functionality quite a few steps further. Not only do those burly 26-inch Maxxis tires provide loads more traction, their extra width increases the Mule’s track by 1.3 inches. Their greater height also gives this Mule a full 8.1 inches of ground clearance. Combined with longer front and rear suspension, this helps the Mule climb over large obstacles, while standard skid plates protect vital systems.

When designing the XC Realtree, Kawasaki engineers made room for those large tires by kicking the Mule’s front bumper forward 1.2 inches. And while they were at it, the team added special Realtree camouflage graphics, a comfortable seat covered in a pliable, durable material and a small-diameter sport steering wheel lifted straight from the Kawasaki Teryx™.

In spite of its wide-ranging capabilities and radical design, you can be sure of the XC’s reliable and economical drivetrain. A durable, 401cc fan-cooled overhead-valve engine mated to a continuously variable transmission (CVT) feeds power to all four wheels as needed, and simple automotive controls mean it couldn’t be much easier to operate. An enrichening system partially opens the throttle for easy engine starts, hot or cold, and the Mule can be started in forward (Hi or Lo) or reverse gear, provided the brake pedal is applied. Select 2WD or 4WD and away you go.

MacPherson strut front suspension and rack-and-pinion steering combine great bump absorption with light handling, while the Mule’s mid-engine layout and swingarm rear suspension provide plentiful traction in back. A powerful braking system brings it all to a reliable halt.

As fun and hunt-oriented as it looks, the XC is all about working. A special black-texture paint applied to its 400-pound capacity all-steel tilting cargo bed allows even greater aesthetics and durability, while a 1,100-pound towing capacity means you can haul whatever hunting gear you need. Dual cup holders help keep hunters hydrated, a capacious glove box can carry more than just gloves, and the front hood pops open to reveal more than 12 gallons worth of storage. Accessories include an enclosed cab, snow plow, winch and soft or hard tops, all available through Kawasaki dealers.

This Aggressive Mule Takes You Farther Afield

What happens when a Mule™ 610 4×4 is crossed with a Teryx™? A Mule 610 4×4 XC is born. With its dirt-worthy design, it will transport those who seek to go slightly father afield from the job site. And with an XC designation revealing its off-road motives, the Mule 610 4×4 XC is loaded with great features designed to hold up better to the rigors of off-road riding.

The Mule XC’s off-road ability is enhanced by its aggressive, 26-inch Maxxis Bighorn 2.0 radial tires, each of which is mounted on a 12-inch wheel. A load of features, including a slightly wider track and ground clearance, complement the XC’s bold nature, infusing it with a healthy dose of what can only be described as cool factor.

The standard Mule 610 4×4 can go just about anywhere, but the new 4×4 XC takes that functionality quite a few steps further.
Through the Tough Stuff with Selectable 4WD

When the going gets tough, the going requires 4-wheel drive. So it’s great to know that the ultimate job site companion, the Mule™ 610 4×4 offers an extra boost of functionality due to its selectable four-wheel drive. It includes all the great, easy-to-use features of the Mule 600, so the 610 4×4 represents a great value – it is a truly versatile and durable utility vehicle. And because it easily fits into the bed of a full-sized pickup truck, the Mule 610 4×4 is easy to transport to remote job sites. The Mule 610 4×4 starts off on the right foot with its dependable single-cylinder four-stroke engine and continuously variable transmission (CVT). The large-diameter steel tube frame is mated to an independent front suspension and a swing-axle rear suspension. True to its practical nature, there is plenty of user-friendly hardware, including automotive-type controls, a gear selector within easy reach on the dashboard, two large cup holders and a passenger-side glove box and grab handle. More storage space is located beneath the hinged front hood.

The Mule 610 4×4’s durable air-cooled, single-cylinder 401cc four-stroke engine maintains an ideal operating temperature with the help of an efficient cooling fan. An enrichening system that partially opens the throttle during ignition makes for easy engine starts. It can be started in forward or reverse gear, provided the brake is applied. It also utilizes rear wheel mud flaps to minimize mud and debris clogging the engine area.

Owners will surely appreciate the knowledge that the Mule 610 4×4 comes equipped with an efficient and durable CVT along with a long-lasting drive belt coupled with a dependable, low-maintenance shaft drive to best deliver the engine’s power and get it out of slippery situations. Perhaps the most useful aspect of the Mule 610 4×4 is the selectable four-wheel drive system that makes this vehicle virtually unstoppable thanks to the high- and low-range forward and reverse gears. A lockable dual-mode rear differential and a limited-slip front differential expand its traction abilities in adverse terrain.

The Mule 610 4×4 rides on a MacPherson strut front suspension, while rear suspension duties are handled by a unit swing-axle. Triple-sealed hydraulic drum brakes at all four wheels provide ample stopping power, and large 24-inch tires provide improved off-road handling. A plastic front differential/axle guard and steel rear differential guard are standard, and help protect important powertrain components.
