Hardworking, Reliable Performance

The Prairie® 360 4×4 ATV is versatile leader in the mid-sized category that ably mixes work and R&R. Whether the day calls for serious chore duty or a serious amount of fun, this solid ATV can handle the job. Its torquey and dependable single-cylinder engine, Kawasaki Automatic Powerdrive System with engine brake control and variable locking front differential control all combine to give users the power and control they look for in an ATV.

The Prairie 360 features a 362cc engine with a continuously variable transmission with high, low and reverse gears. The MacPherson strut front suspension and preload adjustable rear shock handle suspension duties. And shaft drive means minimal maintenance.

If additional traction is needed, the rider can send power to all four wheels at the flip of a switch. A limited-slip front differential helps keep steering light and precise, even in four-wheel drive. In extreme conditions, the rider can use Kawasaki’s Variable Front Differential Control lever to send power to both front wheels. Once maximum traction is no longer needed, the rider simply releases the lever – a simple and effective system.

Stopping power on the Prairie 360 4×4 is provided by a combination of dual front disc brakes and Kawasaki’s sealed, oil-bathed, multi-disc rear brake system. Further speed control is provided by the Kawasaki Engine Brake Control, which uses engine compression and CVT belt pressure to help slow the ATV under certain conditions.

The MacPherson strut front suspension and a single-shock aluminum swingarm rear suspension give the Prairie 360 4×4 a supple ride with 6.7 and 7.1 inches of travel front and rear, respectively. A large, comfortable saddle and full-sized floorboards with adjustable footpegs further maximize rider comfort.

Its steel front and rear cargo racks can carry a combined weight of 242 pounds. Other conveniences include powerful dual halogen headlights, and a hitch bracket that is standard, permitting the rider to tow 1,100 pounds — the highest towing capacity in its class. Owners can expand the versatility of their Prairie ATV via the extensive line of Authentic Kawasaki Accessories, available through Kawasaki dealers.

As with all off-highway vehicle recreation, Kawasaki encourages ATV riders to ride responsibly and to respect the environment. Kawasaki will pay first-time buyers of a new Kawasaki ATV $100 for completing an ATV rider safety course conducted by the ATV Safety Institute (ASI). Interested consumers can call ASI toll-free at 800-887-2887.

Ultimate ATV Features Power Steering, a More Powerful V-twin and Alloy Wheel

Flagship of the Kawasaki ATV line, the muscular Brute Force® 750 4x4i ATV received a comprehensive round of upgrades for the 2012 model year. An Electric Power Steering (EPS) system highlights the changes, but is joined by other significant new features like a more-powerful V-twin engine, new double-wishbone front suspension, six-spoke cast alloy wheels and new bodywork featuring wide-stance styling cues. Like always, dual-range four-wheel drive and a highly maneuverable chassis provide amazing traction, handling and utility. Thanks to revised tuning, a new cylinder head and increased compression ratio, the 2012 Brute Force 750 4x4i’s upgraded four-stroke fuel injected 90-degree 749cc V-twin engine offers more power than ever, with enhanced low-rpm performance. The twin cylinders are fed via 36mm throttle bodies that are controlled by a 32-bit CPU. The system monitors coolant temperature, air intake temperature, air intake pressure, throttle position, vehicle speed and crankshaft angle to deliver the optimum fuel mixture. Instantaneous fuel delivery and crisp engine response help make the eight-valve engine a hit with sport riders. Despite the big power from the engine, a light feel at the throttle lever helps reduce rider fatigue. This is achieved by using a low spring rate for the throttle return springs and ball bearings in the throttle bodies.

A new larger radiator is placed high in the chassis for optimum protection against mud and debris, while a new larger radiator fan and larger-diameter cooling hoses and pipes help maximize cooling performance. A self-repairing circuit breaker and dedicated fuse for the new fan also help keep things cool when the going gets tough.

The addition of Kawasaki’s Electric Power Steering (EPS) system to the Brute Force 750 4x4i results in enhanced handling and improved ride comfort. Turning the bars causes a signal to be sent to the electronic power steering control unit, initiating power assist. The control unit monitors inputs from the vehicle speed sensor and steering shaft torque sensor to determine the amount of power assistance required from the system’s electric motor. At slow speeds or when stopped, assistance is greatest; assistance is reduced as vehicle speed increases to help ensure predictable handling. The EPS assembly enhances ride quality and control by also acting as a damping system, even when steering input is neutral, the added inertia of the electric motor acts as a stabilizer. Likewise, it significantly reduces bump steer and kickback to the handlebars caused by wheel impacts. The entire steering assembly was repositioned, so the bottom of the steering shaft no longer connects directly to the front differential. Movement of the differential due to throttle inputs in 4×4 mode no longer affect the steering assembly, this isolation provides significantly smoother handling.

An upgraded fully automatic, dual-range continuously variable transmission (CVT) is mated to the powerful V-twin engine. A new high gear ratio and a thicker belt made of stronger material contributes to longer CVT belt life and reduced maintenance requirements. Revised converter weight and drive spring tuning offers improved acceleration characteristics and increased control during low-speed operation and a new layout and revised placement of the CVT air duct is more effective at helping prevent the intrusion of water and mud.

Two- or four-wheel drive operation is selectable by simply pressing a button on the handlebar. In four-wheel drive mode, the Brute Force ATV utilizes the limited-slip front differential to help maintain steering response and ease steering effort at the bars. The rider can manage the amount of power to both front wheels with Kawasaki’s Variable Front Differential Control by using a small control lever on the left handlebar. It’s a definite advantage when traversing deep mud, slippery uphill trails or large logs or rocks.

The front drive shafts of the 750 4x4i feature Cardan joints. Similar to U-joints, Cardan joints help absorb torque fluctuations to the drive shaft, and the lightweight design helps to reduce vibration. The small and compact rear final gear case and sealed rear braking system are extremely rugged and efficient.

New six-spoke cast aluminum wheels replace the previous pressed steel units and make a significant styling contribution, while offering a more premium image and enhanced credibility on the trail. Mounted with aggressive tires, the premium wheels help give the Brute Force its 9.4 inches of ground clearance and transfer the awesome power of the V-twin engine to the ground.

Completely sealed, the rear braking system’s components are protected from mud, dust and debris. Its compact size also provides more ground clearance than a conventional rear disc brake system. The sealed rear brake and dual front discs bring the Brute Force 750 4x4i to a quick halt. Enhancing the highly effective braking is the Kawasaki Engine Brake Control, which helps slow the ATV when going downhill.

The 2012 Brute Force 750 4x4i features a new stronger double-cradle tubular steel frame featuring reinforcements at key areas like the front wishbone mounts, rear stabilizer mounts, engine mounts, footrest mounts, etc., resulting in improved rough terrain handling and enhanced durability. The frame’s improved ability to absorb shocks when sport riding on rough terrain boosts ride comfort and makes it easier to maintain a higher average speed in a wider range of conditions.

A new double-wishbone front suspension layout features shock absorbers mounted at a more splayed angle between the upper and lower wishbones to help minimize sag and allow a higher ground clearance to be maintained once a rider sits on the ATV. The front suspension works in concert with its independent A-arm rear suspension. The front wishbones feature adjustable shocks with 6.7 inches of travel, while the IRS employs a leading torsion bar and provides 7.5 inches of travel. A combination of needle bearings and ball joints in the lower rear A-arms gives the IRS unrivaled suspension action, stability and excellent rider comfort.

New single-rate springs replace the dual rate units in the front and rear suspension. The use of single rate springs is preferable due to the revised suspension geometry on the Brute Force 750 4x4i. Complementing the suspension, the urethane seat foam is supportive yet comfortable for long hours in the saddle.

An upright and comfortable riding position enhances the rider’s ability to interact with the Brute Force 750 4x4i and allows the rider to effectively scan the horizon or check the easy to read automotive-style instrument panel. Its front bumper is designed to offer effective hand holds for manhandling the Brute Force when the need arises. Behind the bumper is a new set of bodywork molded from tough and scratch-resistant Thermoplastic Olefin (TPO). The hood, fenders, bumper and headlight surrounds were all re-designed to offer a wide and rugged appearance. Other new design touches include dual wide-set 35-watt headlights which help provide excellent lighting for nighttime rides, and a new ultra-convenient covered hood storage compartment large enough to hold two 16 oz. bottles. New cargo racks featuring stronger tubing that is over 25% larger in diameter than previous versions and the addition of tie-down hook points on the cargo racks make it easier –and far more reliable– to secure a load. The cargo racks can carry a combined total of 264 pounds, making them more than ready to accommodate the rider’s supplies, tools and/or outdoor gear.

The Brute Force 750 4x4i EPS is also available in an SE version, featuring a premium quality Metallic Tungsten Gray automotive paint finish, unique graphics and a bright silver machined finish on the face of its cast aluminum wheels.

Underneath this strong bodywork is a factory-installed plastic conduit for easy winch installation. A large five-gallon fuel tank is located beneath the seat to help keep the center of gravity as low as possible. Helping to keep weight in check, aluminum footpegs are surrounded by tough full-sized composite floorboards.

The capable Brute Force 750 4x4i can also tow a hefty 1,250 pounds — all it needs is a standard hitch ball. Other features include the waterproof storage box in the left front fender and a storage pocket in the right front fender. Owners can expand the versatility of the Brute Force with a variety of Authentic Kawasaki Accessories available through Kawasaki dealers.

MSRP: $9299 :: Call 1-800-556-3098 for our special discount pricing.

Upgraded ATV Features More Powerful V-twin, Alloy Wheels and Enhanced Styling

The Brute Force® 750 4x4i ATV received a comprehensive round of upgrades for the 2012 model year, with significant new features like a more-powerful V-twin engine, new double-wishbone front suspension, six-spoke cast alloy wheels, new bodywork featuring wide-stance styling cues.

For 2012, the entire steering assembly was repositioned so the bottom of the steering shaft no longer connects directly to the front differential housing.

The 2012 Brute Force 750 4x4i features a new stronger double-cradle tubular steel frame featuring reinforcements at key areas like the front A-arm mounts, rear stabilizer mounts, engine mounts, footrest mounts, etc., resulting in improved rough terrain handling and enhanced durability.

A Workhorse for Business and Fun

Whether buzzing through the forest or tackling tough chores, the Brute Force® 650 4x4i ATV is a superior choice in the middleweight category. Its workhorse capabilities and independent front and rear suspension combine to ably handle work and play. All this is available in an economical package that will please budget-minded shoppers.

Its 633cc 90-degree V-twin engine pumps out plenty of low-to-mid range torque and high rpm power, exactly what adventure enthusiasts and outdoor sportsmen demand. A fully automatic, dual-range continuously variable transmission transmits power to the ground. With low and high forward, reverse and neutral gears, this sturdy transmission supplies excellent control for both low- and high-speed riding. Two- or four-wheel drive is selectable by simply pressing a handlebar-mounted button. In four-wheel drive mode, the rider can manage the amount of power to both front wheels with Kawasaki’s Variable Front Differential Control by pulling a small control lever on the left handlebar. This is a definite advantage for traversing deep mud, slippery uphill trails or large objects such as logs or rocks. Prudent use of aluminum in the construction of the front exhaust pipe cover, two-piece center exhaust pipe cover, and the muffler cover helps keep the weight down. Other features designed to enhance the Brute Force 650 4x4i’s power-to-weight ratio include drilled transmission gears to lower their overall weight. An optimized caster angle for the front A-arms provides both light and responsive steering and excellent ground-following abilities. The 650 4x4i shock absorber spring rates and initial preload settings for both front and rear are set to deliver excellent ride comfort. Further ride enhancement comes from the plush urethane seat foam. Like its Independent Rear Suspension-equipped Kawasaki brethren, the rugged, take-on-anything styling of the Brute Force 650 4x4i will both attract onlookers and satisfy owners. It shares front/rear racks, skid plate and head light cover with its larger sibling. Designed to allow easily manhandling of the Brute Force when the need arises, the 650 4x4i sports a steel front bumper.

Stopping the 650 4x4i is a combination of dual 200mm front discs and Kawasaki’s sealed, oil-bathed, multi-disc rear brake system. As an integrated part of the shaft drive, the enclosed rear braking system is sealed in the aluminum swingarm where it operates in an oil bath. This protects the brake pads from mud, dust and debris, and is virtually maintenance-free.

Enhancing the high-performance brakes is the Kawasaki Engine Brake Control system, which electronically monitors ground speed and uses the engine’s compression to help slow the Brute Force 650 4x4i under certain conditions.

This able ATV can pull a hefty 1,250 pounds, and can carry a combined 264 pounds on its front and rear racks. Owners can expand the versatility of their Brute Force 650 4x4i via an extensive line of Authentic Kawasaki Accessories, available through Kawasaki dealers.

2012 KAWASAKI BRUTE FORCE® 300

An Economy-minded Sport Utility ATV That’s Handy – and Fun – Enough to Earn the Brute Force Name

They say good things come in small packages. And in the case of Kawasaki’s all-new Brute Force® 300 sport utility ATV, that cliché rings true.

Replacing the venerable Bayou® 250 in Kawasaki’s highly acclaimed ATV lineup, the Brute Force 300 offers wide-ranging utility and sporting capability in a surprisingly affordable package. Here’s an all-around ATV that’s not only loads of fun to ride, but also delivers a high degree of work ethic and everyday versatility, whether you’re fence-fixing on the farm, plowing snow or trail-hopping with the family.

The versatility begins with an advanced, liquid-cooled, 271cc SOHC, four-stroke engine designed to pump out gobs of low- and mid-range torque – the sort of power that’s easy to use and plenty satisfying. Just push the throttle lever and away you go; no muss, no fuss.

Power is routed to the rear wheels via a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) with centrifugal clutch. The Brute Force 300 is the only machine in its class with this feature. Again, a push of the throttle lever is all it takes; once it’s in gear, no hassles. Transmission and CVT ratios are tailored for optimum power delivery in the speed ranges appropriate for a smaller-displacement ATV. These ratios also provide just the right amount of engine braking, which helps to tame tricky downhill trails and make slowing down an easier proposition.

Primary braking power comes from hydraulically activated triple disc brakes, one disc for each front wheel and a third fitted to the rear axle. All three 180mm discs are squeezed by single-piston calipers controlled by a pair of handlebar levers. Braking and acceleration traction is provided by grippy Maxxis tires jointly developed by Kawasaki and Maxxis for maximum traction, balanced handling and optimal wear characteristics.

Much of this balanced handling comes via the Brute Force 300’s double wishbone suspension setup with 5-way adjustable shocks up front and a similarly adjustable damper working through a swingarm in back. Optimized damping and spring rates result in a comfortable ride in a wide range of conditions, while one of the widest tracks in its class results in capable steering and confidence inspiring handling.

But what brings all this modern technology together is the Brute Force 300’s rugged, big-ATV styling, which was modeled after its larger Brute Force siblings. Whether you call it a family resemblance or sibling rivalry, the result is plenty impressive, with tall, beefy fenders that offer superb protection from mud and debris, and angular styling that looks both modern and aggressive.

Cockpit accommodations are generous and comfortable, with a wide handlebar for easy turning and enough room for larger riders. Grip weights help reduce engine vibration, while the half-waffle grips offer enhanced comfort even after hours in the saddle. And that saddle, by the way, sports super-thick cushioning – just the thing when you want to ride for a good long time.

The Brute Force 300 sports many other features, including a digital instrument pod showing all manner of useful information, a handy DC electrical socket, a gate-style shifter and a handy parking brake. There’s tons of overall carrying capacity, too, with dual rack carriers (44 pounds of capacity up front and 66 pounds in back) and a pair of handy compartments, one up front and another built into the right fender. Towing capacity is a surprisingly capable 500 pounds, and there’s even space and a mounting bracket behind the front grille for a Warn® winch. An electric push-button starter with a backup recoil unit offers maximum starting convienience, while the footpeg/floorboard design does double duty, offering riders plenty of room for their feet and helping increase the 300’s mud resistance when the going gets sloppy. Finally, a 3.2-gallon fuel tank means this stellar combination of fun and utility will last a good long time between fill-ups.

All in all, you won’t find a better outfitted ATV in the entry-level class. It may not be an open-class ATV, but there’s plenty of guts and ability to tackle just about any task or riding situation. See? Good things do come in small packages.

Authentic Kawasaki Accessories are available through Kawasaki dealers.

A Welcoming Introduction to Four-wheeling

Young riders looking to get in on the four-wheeling action can savor the fun aboard a KFX90 ATV. Well-suited to the dimensions of those 12 and over, its fully automatic transmission, full suspension and good looks provide a welcoming introduction. And parents will appreciate the protection offered by full floorboards and controls that allow them to limit engine speed.

The KFX90’s environmentally friendly four-stroke 89cc engine provides compliant power delivery with a healthy mid-range. Dual front shocks and swingarm rear suspension help make the ride more enjoyable by cushioning the rider against bumps. And because the continuously variable transmission eliminates the need for a shift lever, new riders can pay more attention to developing their skills rather than on shifting.

Parents will value the added security offered by the KFX90’s keyed ignition switch, which prevents use without the key. Once they hand over the key, parents can still exercise control over the KFX90’s available performance, via the throttle limiting screw and a CVT transmission speed limiter. These allow the ATV’s maximum speed to be preset to match a rider’s ability.

The KFX90 is also equipped with premium features like electric starting, a single-shock rear suspension, independent A-arm front suspension, and a single rear disc, supplemented by dual front drum brakes.

Authentic Kawasaki Accessories are available through Kawasaki dealers.

Think of the Teryx® 750 FI 4×4 Sport as the hot rod of Kawasaki’s Recreation Utility Vehicle (RUV) family. The Teryx Sport is ready for serious off-road fun right out of the box, with clues to its substantial performance in plain sight – lightweight alloy wheels controlled by high-end multi-adjustable, gas-charged shocks. The uprated suspension and wheels extend the Sport’s off-road ability by delivering a high degree of wheel and chassis control even through seriously rough terrain. So whether you’re hammering along a rocky, bumpy desert two-track or hightailing it on a narrow, bumpy trail in the woods, the Sport makes short work of the nasty terrain so drivers can focus on the fun.

In an increasingly specialized world, it’s nice to know some products can still do a lot of jobs. And in the powersports industry, there’s perhaps no better example than Kawasaki’s V-twin powered Teryx® 750 FI 4×4 recreation utility vehicle. Whether you’re hauling bricks to the construction site, firewood and supplies to the campground, or just going for a blast on the local trails, the Teryx has you covered, with a range of abilities that’ll have you grinning like a kid inside your helmet.

It all starts with the Teryx’s smooth and powerful fuel-injected V-twin engine and sport-tuned wide-body chassis, designs that boosted it to the front of the Recreational Utility Vehicle pack when first introduced. Upgraded last year in several ways, including new front-end styling, a forward-tilting hood, improved engine cooling, an even sturdier tilting bed out back and a host of detail improvements, the Teryx is sure to stay atop the RUV heap
