MULE 4010 Trans4x4 is built with reliable standard features such as selectable four-wheel drive, electric power steering (EPS) and an engine equipped with Digital Fuel Injection (DFI®) that works in conjunction with a fully automatic transmission and locking rear differential. All these make the versatile MULE 4010 Trans4x4 the go-to choice for any job.

The vehicle features a liquid-cooled 617cc four-stroke V-twin engine that is managed by the Digital Fuel Injection system, which is able to compensate for variations in atmospheric pressure as well as engine and air temperature. The result is smooth and consistent engine starting, crisp throttle response and more precise fuel metering, which helps to reduce fuel consumption and emissions.

The ECU incorporates an automatic fast idle speed control that activates when the engine is cold. This eliminates the need for a manual choke. The ECU also regulates maximum engine speed, eliminating the need for a mechanical governor.

The powerful engine is mated to a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) that features both high- and low-range forward gears plus reverse. A dependable, low-maintenance shaft drive system transmits power to a dual-mode rear differential that can be locked to maximize traction, or unlocked to improve handling and minimize ground disturbance when making tight turns. MULE 4010 Trans4x4 drivers can also engage four-wheel drive for extra traction in rough terrain.

While the wheelbase of the MULE 4010 Trans4x4 is 11.6″ longer than a standard 4010, it still offers a tight turning radius and excellent ability over rough terrain. The Electric Power Steering (EPS) system makes the low-effort rack-and-pinion steering even easier to turn. In fact, it reduces steering effort by up to 30 percent and is a significant boost at low speeds in four-wheel drive, using inputs from the vehicle’s speed and torque sensors to determine how much assistance is required from the steering’s electric motor.

Four hydraulically operated, self-adjusting, sealed drum brakes provide efficient stopping power. They are designed to resist contamination from water, mud and other debris. Large 23″ low-pressure tires provide a comfortable ride, great traction and help minimize impact on a variety of terrain.

A smooth-riding MacPherson strut front suspension works in conjunction with a heavy-duty DeDion-type leaf spring rear suspension system to provide the MULE 4010 Trans4x4 with an extended-bed 800 lb cargo capacity, or a 400 lb capacity when in four-passenger mode.

The 2015 MULE 4010 Trans4x4 Realtree Xtra Green Camo shows its strength from start to finish, with a tubular steel front brush guard that improves durability. It can be coupled to a 2″ hitch receiver that that provides towing of up to 1,200 lb when equipped with the optional draw bar.
With its rugged camouflaged exterior, this four-wheel drive Side x Side is a natural in the great outdoors. Its body panels are manufactured from a durable, color-molded plastic that hides minor scuffs and scratches.

The extendable cab on the MULE 4010 Trans4x4 is surrounded by an extremely strong, large-diameter, steel Roll Over Protective Structure (ROPS) that meets SAE J1194, 7.1.1, 7.1.2, 7.4, and 7.5 requirements for wheeled tractors, and also meets the FMVSS 216 roof crush resistance requirement.

The front hood can be opened by pulling a dash-mounted knob, allowing access to a deep storage space equipped with convenient D-rings to secure cargo. Additionally, two levers make opening and closing the tailgate an easy process. The convenience factor on the Trans4x4 extends beyond easy-access latches and controls: it also boasts owner-friendly features like the winch-ready mounting plate located under the front grille, which simplify the winch-mounting process significantly.

Tough styling and the outdoor-motif graphic package are complemented by user-friendly controls and dashboard layout.

Cabin features include an easy-to-read multifunction digital fuel gauge and hour meter, a dash-mounted horn button to eliminate unintentional honking while turning, and a comfortable yet sporty steering wheel with improved ergonomics.

With the forward/reverse, high/low-range gear lever, and the four-wheel drive selector all within easy reach on the dash, drivers can focus more attention on negotiating tricky terrain.

The MULE 4010 Trans4x4 dashboard also features an easy-to-see coolant temperature warning light, dual gloveboxes, driver and passenger cupholders and a push-button control to operate the headlights. The cab features retractable rear seatbelts and padded rear-passenger grab handles as well.

Maintenance chores are simplified with an air restrictor gauge in the cab to indicate when the air filter needs to be either cleaned or replaced, while both the fusebox and oil dipstick are conveniently located under the seat for easy access.
